Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember information about your visit — such as your language preference or consent choices — making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
Cookies cannot run programs or carry viruses. They are a standard, widely-used feature of modern websites and are not used to identify you personally unless you have provided us with personal information directly.
2. How We Use Cookies
Fernglen uses a small number of cookies to operate our website responsibly. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or any form of profiling. Our cookie use falls into three categories:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly. They are set automatically and cannot be disabled through our cookie consent tool. Without them, parts of the site — such as the contact form or navigation — may not work as intended.
Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with our website in aggregate — for example, which pages are visited most or how long people spend reading a particular section. This data is anonymized and does not identify individual visitors. These cookies are only set if you accept the analytics category at the cookie consent prompt.
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your choices on the site — specifically, your cookie consent decision — so you are not asked again on each visit. They are stored locally in your browser and contain no personal data beyond your preference selection.
3. Cookie Reference Table
The following table lists the specific cookies we use or may set during your visit:
| Cookie Name | Category | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| fernglen_consent | Preference | Fernglen | Stores your cookie consent decision so you are not prompted again | 12 months |
| _ga | Analytics | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors; used to calculate anonymized session and visit data | 2 years |
| _ga_[ID] | Analytics | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4 measurement | 2 years |
| _gid | Analytics | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users within a 24-hour window for session grouping | 24 hours |
| _gat | Analytics | Google Analytics | Throttles request rate to Google Analytics servers | 1 minute |
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or cookies from marketing platforms.
4. Your Consent Choices
When you first visit our website, a cookie consent notice will appear at the bottom of the page. You can choose to accept all cookies, accept essential cookies only, or manage your preferences by category.
If you wish to update your preferences after your initial choice, you can do so by clearing the fernglen_consent cookie from your browser's storage (instructions below) and refreshing the page, which will re-display the consent prompt.
Declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any part of the Fernglen website.
5. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
You can control and delete cookies directly through your browser settings. The main browsers provide the following guidance:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Please note that disabling certain cookies through your browser may affect the normal functioning of some websites, including ours.
6. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics cookies are governed by Google's own privacy policy. When analytics cookies are accepted, anonymized data is transmitted to Google servers for processing. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled. For more information on how Google handles this data, visit policies.google.com/privacy.
Our website also embeds a Google Maps panel to display our office location. The map is loaded as a static embed and does not set cookies in our standard configuration.
7. Cookies and Thai Law
Our use of cookies is governed by Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA 2019) and the Electronic Transactions Act. Where cookies involve the processing of personal data, we obtain your prior consent through our consent mechanism before such data is collected.
Essential cookies and preference cookies that do not collect personal data may be set without prior consent, as they are strictly necessary for the operation of our service.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We recommend reviewing this policy occasionally to stay informed.
